If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

Bind them (commandments) upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He pondereth all his goings.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath He established the heavens.

For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
